It’s ideal for environments where mold prevention is a priority, such as schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings. Fiberlock IAQ 6000 is a 100% acrylic, water-based coating formulated for durability and flexibility. It can be applied to a variety of surfaces including wood, plaster, wallboard, sheetrock, concrete, masonry block, and primed metal, including galvanized metal. Proper surface preparation is essential; remove existing contaminants and prime as needed (IAQ 4000 for ferrous metal, IAQ 5000 for wood, IAQ 3000 for masonry block). Tinting is possible to off-white or pastel colors, using up to 2 oz. of universal colorant per gallon. Application is straightforward using brushes, rollers (3/8” nap or longer), or airless spray equipment (2000-3000 P.S.I. with .019 to .021 tips). Coverage rates vary depending on surface porosity, ranging from 250-400 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth surfaces to 150-300 sq. ft. per gallon on porous surfaces. Allow one hour to touch and four hours to recoat at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Clean tools with warm soapy water. Fiberlock IAQ 6000 has been tested by independent laboratories according to ASTM G-21 and ASTM D-3273 for mold resistance. Note that mold resistance applies only to the coating surface.
